THE TOURIST
The Tourist is a critical exploration of global tourism and travel photography. This publication is focused on analysing the power dynamics emerging from documenting and photographing journeys to places considered as 'different'. It is a self-deprecating account of travelling through India with a camera being criticised as an ethnocentric mode of representation.
The project originated from my journey to India, where I observed problematic interactions between the tourists and the locals.
This publication is an outcome of the cultural immersion programme organised by the British Council Generation UK-India and IndoGenius.
